What is the Creative Commons Expansion?
God’s Word is not meant to sit on a shelf—it is living and active (Hebrews 4:12), a weapon for every battle, a light for every path (Psalm 119:105). Spiritual Warfare: The Card Game is more than just a game; it’s a training ground for life, helping believers learn to speak, apply, and rely on Scripture in real-world scenarios.
Through the Creative Commons expansion, this tool is placed in the hands of the people of God—the Church! It's freely available for you to build upon -- for any who desires to grow in biblical literacy, spiritual resilience, and practical discipleship. All Bible text is still protected by publisher's copywrite, available for you to use responsibly in the context of Spiritual Warfare Cards.

*Creating Your Own Deck
It's exciting to begin making your own deck, and we can help each other see it through to completion. Start with what you've got!
Write scriptures on a notepad, 3x5 card, or use a template (e.g. to be linked) and printer. Throughout your day, respond to life scenarios with powerful phrases from your scriptures.
Before creating scripture cards, it’s important to understand the copyright policies of Bible publishers. Many publishers allow limited use of Scripture, but each has unique requirements. Below are some general guidelines:
- Public Domain Translations: Some translations are completely free to use without restrictions.
- Limited Use Licenses: Some publishers allow a certain number of verses, so long as it does not make up more than a total percentage of the deck (e.g. 50% for CSB and LSB, 25% for NIV, 25% ESV (choose non Creative Commons license, as required)).
- Attribution Requirements: Make sure to cite all translations correctly according to publisher requirements.
For a deck to be legally shared, you must ensure you comply with these requirements. Below are links to official policies of various Bible publishers.
